Jinza No.1, No.2, No.3 and No.4 were released during 1983 and 1989, were the earliest hybrid cucumber varieties utilizing heterosis, and popularly adopted in China. The varieties resolved the conflicts between disease resistance and early maturity, high yield and early maturity, and were multi-diseases resistant and high yield, became the main cultivation varieties in late 1980's and early 1990's, realized the 2nd variety replacement in China. The achievements won "National Science and Technology Progress Prize" in 1991, and "Outstanding Contribution Prize in Developing Tianjin through Science and Technology" in 1994.
